Will these bits fit a 1750 Equipe? I have no idea about these Ducellier distributors, so I hope that one set of components fit all serial numbers!

Having some problems with the link! Item no. 380113617922

Your dizzy looks a bit corroded, would it not be better to sling a complete working unit on? Wouldn matter if it was Lucas or Ducellier that way.

I must have that dig around, im sure ive got some spares that I can throw your way!

Hmmm - I didn't look closely, but yes, it didn't appear to be pristine! Hopefully it'll just clean up.

It might be simpler if I swapped the dizzy for a Lucas one, as parts seem to be easier to find. BUT my bidding finger has been too eager and has jumper at these bits on Fleabay - If I don't win then I'll take up your offer.

Either way, I'll be fitting new points, cap, rotor and condenser to the car. I really hope the engine hasn't seized as I want to hear it run at Easter!

Id start by taking the spark plugs out and sticking a little diesel down each bore, help it unstick a bit.....

I bought a complete maxi engine and box from ebay however, £50. Bargain! Runs a treat too.

Yes, I'll need to look into exactly what to do to avoid killing it if it has seized.

And I have now found Ducellier service items, they do appear to be readily available.

Ducellier distributor components are readily availible from minispares.com but only parts like cap, arm, points & condensor, cheers, Laurence.

If you're considering replacing it with a Lucas unit, the document I pointed out a good while ago could be useful references:-

Quote:
I just came across this: Marcel Chichak's technical documents - www.starchak.ca/tech/tech.htm

The documents that particularly caught my eye were:
Tuning the Lucas distributor - lucastuning.pdf
and
Lucas distributor database - lucas.pdf
