Hi all-
Another hazard question- this has me puzzled. My hazards didn't work at all, so I replaced the relay. Now, they flash, but only on the left side of the car. The indicators work on both sides. I took the switch apart (and of course it exploded so I had to carefully reassemble everything), cleaned everything to no avail. I couldn't see anything obvious- wires hanging down or out of connectors etc.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to where I should look next?
Thanks,
Brian |

It pains me to even ask, but do the indicators on the other side work when activated in the standard manner? _________________ ...that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today. |

| Hi- yes, the indicators all work fine- all bulbs work as they should on both sides. Thats whats confusing- I'd think that either the hazards should all work or not at all. |

Brian,
I am no specialist with Allegro electrical gremlins but it sounds like you may have the wrong relay?
I remember someone telling me that there are two way relays and three way and if you have the wrong on only one side will work
If you haven't sorted it by monday we can have a play with the relays at the show see if we can suss out the problem and i could bring the meter home from work with me if you like
chat soon

Thanks Richie- I think you may be on to something- Fracking ebay- I ordered a 'rectangular one' and they sent me a round one- it fit, so I didn't think anything about it.
See you at Bexhill! |

Hi,
According to the wiring diagram, there is a green/white 'link' wire coming out of the hazard warning light switch which connects to the green/white wire which comes out of the indicator switch to feed the RH indicator lamps.
So you need to trace the green/white wire from the hazard warning light switch to the indicator switch multi-pin plug (where I assume they join).
Check that there is a feed coming out of the hazard warning light switch on the green/white wire, if so, check for a feed where the wire connects to the green/white wire which comes from the indicator switch.
If there is no feed coming out of the hazard warning light switch at the green/white wire, the switch is probably defective. |
