When I switch on the hazards, the electronic flasher unit just buzzes, nothing else happens. I tried another one, and that does the same (I believe they were both working fine before).
What could cause this? I'm confused, as I doubt it is the unit itself. _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |

Colin,
It is likely to be the hazard switch shorting out. It won't blow a fuse because the circuit will switch rapidly limiting the current draw. (Hence the buzz). Try disconnecting the earth wire at the switch (Black if my memory is correct) and see what happens.

Well, it magically fixed itself before I disconnected the wire! I just tried it first and the hazards were working fine. I wish all my car's problems would fix themselves!
I had unscrewed and lifted forward the heater cover the other day, and after putting it back is when I discovered the buzzing. I had to unscrew, lift forward and then refit the heater cover again a day or so again, and now the hazards have fixed themselves. I didn't do anything to the switch or wiring, maybe it was something I did without knowing that broke and then fixed them?? Very odd! _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |
