Had a side light go on me this week, bulb blown and fitting corroded yay.
Got a new bulb anyway but then had a great idea - 501 capless push in LED side lights, now there's a future?
So today I got to work and "removed" my indicator:
Mud shields are a definate project for this year!
I bought a pair of side repeater from our local motor factors, £6.99 (LED bulbs were £3.99) and cut off the bulb holder section:
The original bulb holder is secured to the indicator unit with "peened" over tabs, once pryed up the holder "fell" out leaving a conveniently size ridge for my ne bulb holder to be glued in place. Mitre Bond (glue and activator) is awesome stuff !
New holder in clean unit:
Fully cleaned ready for action:
Ha ha, another plan seen to fruition. lol _________________ Austin the SDL Estate will live again! (one day!) |

Nice mod - plastic doesn't corrode so this should last somewhat longer than the original bulbholder! _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |
