Hi folks,

Due to moving house, the birth of a baby etc, I sadly will not be able to get my 1750 Sport project back on the road. I saved this car from being scrapped in 2010 after having been in a barn since 1990.

It was registered on 1 June 1973, and seems to be pretty much original - dates on the coil and wiper motor show those parts were produced in mid-April 1973, and it is therefore likely that the car itself was built before the official launch date.

As everyone knows, the early E-Series cars were very rare, and there are few survivors - this is one of them. Currently residing with Steve Beard in Essex, it's incredibly solid, with a shed-load of Ziebart having done its job properly. Steve started it easily on (then) 20-year old petrol, and if you search for my posts, you can find the story of its acquisition!

Since buying it, I have acquired a few bits including a complete, spare gearbox for parts, and a NOS rear "1750 Sport" badge!

I don't want to eBay the car - I would rather it went to a Club member who will get it back on the road. I jumped at it when I saw it as I knew it was a special car, and hopefully someone here will too.

Any sensible offer accepted as I know it's a project - PM me!

Cheers,

James

I've had a couple of expression of interest folks, but storage has been a problem.

I definitely need to sell this, and would hate to scrap such an early and rare car - hopefully someone out there will take it on!

Just to update this: A good friend of mine bought this car and is slowly (and carefully) restoring it at home. He is not aiming for 'concours' but the end result will be to a good standard.
