I've just received this; I can't make any claims as to authenticity, so feel free to take it with a pinch of salt...
| Quote: | Dear,
At this moment we are preparing a movie from Danish director Lars Von Trier in Gent (Belgium). The director wants to have a red Allegro on the set the 28 of august.
The actor simply step out of the car.
Do you know someone with a red Allegro we can contact? If yes, on what telnumber?
We are willing to pay the expences and more.
Kind regards,
Marcel Van Kelst |
As I am unaware of any Belgian members, I have written back asking for clarification on various possible hidden requirements such as series, model, and whether RHD would be acceptable. If anyone wishes to contact them in the meantime, please PM me for their email & phone number (don't forget, international rates will apply!) _________________ ...that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today. |

Fresh(!) from 2200 miles in an Austin 1300 last week, we are off to Gent (Belgium) in a 1.1-litre Allegro 3 next week!
I have struck a deal with the film company to make it worthwhile and get a couple of nights B+B in Belgium too.
I will let you all know how it goes
Incidentally, if anybody knows where I can get a couple of the breathalyser kits that the French authorities now insist on (without paying an arm and a leg!), please let me know! |

Don't forget that ferries run from Hull & Ramsgate straight to Belgium.
I'm glad you got an answer! Thanks for letting us know - if I hadn't heard anything by this weekend I was going to buy the 1500HL on eBay & offer to let them use that
I'm looking forward to seeing an Allegro on the big screen! _________________ ...that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today. |
