Allegro Club International

I have been contacted by a Mrs Johnson who is anxious to find a home for her late Father's Allegro 1500 (Supersport?) Manual Estate, which was purchased new in 1977, and has a recorded mileage of under 50k. The car is in Southgate, London N14. The car MUST go soon as the house is being sold.

i did........

she said that they would like £200 for it and the money will be donated to charity on behalf of her parents. if it was closer i would buy it.
she also sent me some pictures of the car in it's glory years but none up to date.

the car is not road worthy and will need to be trailered away if you would like to see the pictures email me and i'll pass them on giz@theunofficialbromsgroveminiclub.co.uk

Didn't hear anything in time for today. Sad

I have another half-dead estate (an escapee from Richie's collection) which I did have plans for but they fell through; current thinking is possibly trying to build one good car from the pair, as what I have has lost its engine, as well as major rust in the front end & doors, but has a very solid bodyshell.

Hi folks, long time no postee, but if anyone does have this car for its shell, or considers breaking it, I will gladly buy the engine and gearbox combo.

Can anyone shed light on the "Supersport" designation that's been queried in the original post - were the estates ever sold with tuned engines, is this likely to have (or be meant to have) the twin-carb set-up? Was the Allegro the first sports estate?!

It sounds like an error or a designation given by a tuning company, or BL Tuning or whatever. Not an 'official' designation as far as I know.

Mind you wouldn't mind a 'sporty' estate, although I don't have plans to uprate mine in any serious way.

An Equipe estate would be fantastic!
