I brought my allegro from the Evesham auction beginning of March this year. I soon got it going Fitted a mg midget fuel tank and rebuilt the steering rack.
It’s now back on the road. I’m also going to fit a rear suspension unit as there is a fluid leak. Shame I can’t use at the moment. [/list] |

Hello Steve and welcome to the club forums.
I'm afraid it's a bit quiet here but please don't let that discourage you.
You my find this http://manual.allagro.co.uk/ of some help when planning your rear suspension work. It was put up with a grand ambition to cover all maintenance and repair operations for the Allegro, but ground to a halt after covering the suspension.
Also, I (and many other club members) can heartily recommend Ian Kennedy at https://hydragasandhydrolasticservice.com for regassing your units. (EDIT: I've just read your other post and see you're already aware of Ian and Dawn)
Mike.

Welcome Steve, it is good to see another new member on here!
As Mike says, it is very quiet on here, but most of the information is Quality, rather than the mere Quantity you will find on Facebook, which is 'here today and gone off the bottom of the page tomorrow!'
Is your 'new' Allegro a Champagne Beige 4-door? There was one such car in the Evesham auction and I am sure the registration number looked familiar: I think it belonged to a club member in the Manchester area a few years ago and came to a number of club events.
How bad was the original fuel tank? If you are thinking of visiting Ian Kennedy for suspension work, he may be able to (safely) apply his welding skills to the fuel tank as well. |

| Hi Paul. I am pleased you remember the car from years ago. I’d love to find out more about it. Yes it is the Evesham auction one .. since buying it I’ve sorted the tank ( midget one ) Old one is beyond restoration ( I restore mg sports cars for a living). And Ian supplied me a replacement rear hydragas unit. And I fitted it and it’s back on the road again. I’d love to find out how it ended up at jaguar Land Rover for five years. I’d be interested in talking to the previous club member too ! ? |
