Many BL cars have a voltage stabilizer plugged into rear of dash.
Smiths 1303/20 -275 or similar, I got an upgrade type via e-bay trader
( kfenwick1969@gmail.com ) for £11.99 inc; & fixed fault great on my
Marina, just disconnect battery, remove instrument panel, pull old out
& plug in new. Worth trying before tank sender and more stable than
original type. (But if you must keep original! a guy has advert on e-bay
for rebuilding an old unit you can send in).
