Hi, I'm a new member. Between my brother and myself we have 3 Allegro's all 1500s.
One is an Oyster HLS, a red HL and a Tara green LE.

All need work, the LE we rescued from a scrap yard so there are dents in the roof that need sorting.

Just bought a spray can to touch up Oyster HLS but the colour came out too light, anyone know the right code for the colour.

I have noticed that other new members have put a bit of information about themselves, so here goes. I started my working life as an apprentice at British Leyland in the mid 70s before becoming a member of the quality control team on the engine manufacture side.

My first car was a beautiful citron coloured Allegro 1100, never missed a beat. I then had a blue LE.

Welcome, Kevin Smile

You will find this forum really quiet, most Allegro people seem to prefer (anti)social media nowadays for some reason, but there are still a select few of us lurking around on here!

It is good to hear of another serial Allegro owner.........and you are not too far from where I live (near Ashby)

We also have an Oyster HLS in the family, so it would be good to get the two side by side at some point.
We have never needed to buy paint for it so far, but it will be difficult to match because it pre-dates the two-stage metallics that everybody has used for the last 30+ years. Your best bet would be to find a paint supplier that can 'scan' some existing paint on the car and then formulate a match from that.
There are two paint codes listed for Oyster: MAA and MMA; I have no idea what the difference is. Strangely, Oyster is classed as a 'silver', not a 'gold' colour....
There is an Oyster Allegro estate currently for sale on eBay and that appears to have been resprayed in a lighter version of the colour!

Sorry Kevin, but this "select" member Laughing lost his password!
There are a few cans of really old Oyster paint in the club spares. I'll give them a rattle and see if any haven't dried out competely!
Email me on spares@allegroclubint.org.uk if you're interested!
All the best,
Graham
