I'm hoping to upgrade to electronic ignition. I've tried an Accuspark system in my ducellier distributor but it did not fit well and also lost the vacuum advance. I have spoken to the company and they say losing the vacuum advance is no biggy ???!
I always considered that the ducellier was the best distributor. I don't really know why but in light of the above I am now highly tempted to change to a Lucas 45D4 which is easily obtainable and reasonably cheap on eBay. The only worrying part as far as I'm concerned is that they are generally listed as fitting the mini (A-series) AND the Maxi/Allegro (E-Series). I always thought the A series and E series engines had different distributor drives and are, therefore, not interchangeable. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,
Graham
