can I check what size was standard for the series 2 Allegro, I believe it is 14", but not entirely sure.

I had understood they could be replaced with Mini blades, but they seem to be 10"or 11"

Can anyone confirm the best place to source some decent quality replacement blades (in chrome)?

am just about to buy some Tex wiper blades, but they can be finished as "bright stainless steel" or "hand polished". Does anyone know which is more suited to the original on my series 2?

Stainless, I believe. My current ones aren't chrome but they're untarnished metal, presumably stainless; when the rubbers wear out, I just fit new ones - there's lots of sellers of replacement rubbers, and it's so much easier than trying to find whole units for less than an arm & a leg!

After a discussion with someone at the NEC (perhaps you? I'm sorry, I forgot to take their name...), here's the wiper blade refills I'm personally using:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/28-Wiper-Refills-X-8-5Mm-Pwr28W-/301298711030

I did say in person that they're 6.5mm - turns out I misremembered, you need the 8.5mm version. They're really easy to fit; the instructions that come with the refills are complete and concise. However if you have any questions, just ask and I can use my spare set to make a demonstration video/pictorial.

Many thanks Richard, it was me you spoke to !

Thanks for the link, I shall look at those. Do they come with a metal frame or does the rubber just clip into the chrome part of the wiper blade?

Well done at the NEC, it was a great stand.
