OK folks, I have read in a few places (just a few, not many...) that Hydragas fluid should be changed roughly every 5 years as the corrosion inhibitors can lose their potency, causing rusty/congealed muck and suchlike to collect in the displacers, and potentially clog the damping valves.
Is this really good advice, or unnecessary?
None of the BL literature I have mentions routine replacement of the fluid.
As mine has been in since at least 2008 and I need to depressurise the system and already have some new fluid, I will do this, and try to flush out the displacers too as I read that was a good idea. I'll report back as to what comes out - green or brown, runny or sludge. We'll see! _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |
