Hi folks, had been trying to get my Allegro back on the road in March/April but hit a problem when I thought that the differential was knackered, so I left it for over 2 months
I have removed the O/S inner CV/pot joint, finding the diff output shaft has play and can be wiggled about very visibly.
However, having measured the play as best I can, it is actually only between 1.3-1.6mm at the end of the shaft.
There doesn't really appear to be any in-out play (a little hard to be absolutely certain because trying to pull/push the shaft introduces movement in the left/right/up/down direction).
The N/S inner CV/pot joint has a small amount of play.
Having done a more thorough internet search than when I first found the problem, I came across this thread on a Mini forum, which suggests that actually all might be well:

So perhaps the 1.3-1.6mm of play is OK? Might need to check how exactly much play is in the N/S inner CV/pot joint, but it isn't much.
Can anybody confirm if all is OK with my diff or not please?
