Just the one for me as well (at the moment...) 1977 1300 Super 2 door in Antique Gold. AMA 261 S. Anybody remember this car in a previous life? as judging by the sticker in the back, it has been a club member before.

Not trying to show off or anything, but here goes:

1973 1750 Sport 4-door, Black Tulip (off road since 1983, awaiting restoration) Razz
1979 1300 Super 4-door, Sandglow (with MG Metro 1300 running gear)
1979 1750 Equipe x 2, both with original stripes. One awaiting restoration, other has 42k on clock and is actually quite nice! Cool
1979 1750HL series 2, Oyster metallic, 31k on clock. Sadly, those are the only good things to say about it, as the only thing that will get this one back on the road is a re-shell Sad
1981 1.7HLS series 3, Turquoise metallic. Awaiting restoration. The first owner of this car traded in the Oyster 1750HL mentioned above........ Shocked
1982 1.3HL series 3 4-door, Cinnabar Red. Could probably be repaired, but more valuable to me as a donor car for the one listed below: Embarassed
1984 (yes, January 1984 on an 'A' reg!) 1.3HL series 3 4-door, Cinnabar Red. Probably the last Allegro registered? Awaiting restoration using parts from the one listed above Twisted Evil

Oyster 1.3 HLS - owned from 1994 and still only 27,000 miles Very Happy

Bronze 1.5 HL (Penelope) - just done over 1500 miles in Ireland with no major probs!

Well here goes......

These are the cars Rog and I have between us.....

1974 1300 SDL in Cosmic Metallic, our first Allegro and owned since 2002. Currently off the road since 2004 as needs scuttle repairs to keep the rain out. FSH from new with all MOT's and Tax Disc's etc.
Very Happy
1973 1750SS in Teal Blue. In the process of a very long term restoration after being off the road since 1980! Only 30k on clock but in the process of having every exterior panel replaced!
Very Happy
1975 1500 Special in Flamenco. A very nice Allegro but again off the road due to a nasty accumulation of limescale in the block which blocks the waterpump as frequently as the pump is replaced! Any ideas on what to use to descale the engine? Again lots of history with this car. Confused

1973 1300SDL in Blaze. Bought as a spares car for £50 but in such fab condition cannot break it! Smile

1974 Vanden Plas 1500 Auto in Mirage. Really nice car needed a bit of bodywork to put on the road. Very Happy

1975 Series 1 1300 SDL estate in white. Exported to Sri Lanka when new, driven back to the UK in 1980 and a daily driver til 2005. So rotten it needs reshelling! Still have the original Sri Lanken number plates and pictures of the car going over the Kaiber Pass! Shocked

1974 1750SS in white. Again a rot box that needed saving, but very complete and original! Wink

1973 1100 DL in Mirage. Only 6700, yes six thousand seven hundred miles from new. My favourite allegro and winner of best serices one at the 2006 National at Moira Furnace. Having a year off this year to keep the mileage down! Laughing

1974 1300SDL Auto in Rheingold metallic. Nice car but dreadful to drive with the auto box! Needs small inner arch repair for MOT. Smile

1980 Series 3 1300L in Pagent Blue. A really nice car that will imminantly have head surgery due to valve seat recession! Confused

1980 1750 HL Auto Series 3 in russet brown. Only 5700 miles from new but off the road since 1992 and has sat outside. Immaculate body underneath, but rotten rear deck panel! Saved from the crusher. Rolling Eyes

1980 Vanden Plas 1500 in Black. 143,000 miles from new, but still looking good! Reshelled at 18 months old after an arguement with a lorry and a shopfront! The only one currently on the road with Tax and MOT! Laughing

And out latest purchase, project X...
1975 1300SDL Crayford Convertible in Tundra with ochre interior. The 13th Crayford Conversion LLX 390P. Only 17K from new with all original panels but needs reassembly after a respray 14 years ago! Can't wait to get this one done! Shocked

Cough cough, well, here's my solitary car - no room for any others...

1976 Vanden Plas 1500 in Damask Red - nicknamed 'Arabella' by Richard (not me I hasten to add!)

54,000 miles and one previous owner. Has been a pain in the neck over the past few months - new points/condenser, rebuilt carb, new water pump, new engine mounts/engine mount dampers, swivel hub ball joints, suspension tie rod bushes and various other bits and bobs, probably due to doing only 20 miles in the previous 5 years before I got my hand on it.

Next job - change steering rack - Help!!!

Just the one for me..........

1976 Allegro 1100 Deluxe 4 Door - Glacier White. 12,000 miles from new. Lives a very cossetted life. Completely Original in all respects and my Pride and Joy. Dry Stored and used between 1977 - 1999.

And another addition to the fleet...
1981 1.7 HLS in silver with only 21k on the clock. Needs some paintwork, but no proper rot, a great interior and my god does it shift!

Would insert a photo but can't work out how![/img]

Hi Everyone,
As everyone is posting what all agros they own just thought i would add my old bangers . . .
First one is the God awful 1979V series 3 1.3L applejack 4 door saloon that should of been scrapped years ago but the rotton old pear just wants to die and i keep reviving it everytime . . . i must be insane!!
Fav 159v Lizzy the green godess has been the most problematic allegro i have ever owned not a week passes without something going wrong or a part of the engine giving up the ghost,i have replaced nearly everything around the leaky, tired dog of an engine and she still has the bare cheek to go wrong yet again . . . . nightmare!!

The second is my pride and joy which is the apple of my eye this car is an early series 2 p reg 1976 damask red estate lfh 577p with mink interior she needs full restoration and she is so getting it as soon as the restoration company pull their finger out with another bl car which i wont mention gets finished this car only has 43,000 from new and family owned before i got my hands on her back in 1998

Third one is Fangita another early series 2 p reg glacier white estate which i have recently taken on by another allegro club member, she is ropey but sound underneath and is in the garage being recommisioned and having the head gasket done and dreaded mot!! ONM413P
Fourth one i have nearly aquired from George and Roger is Eddie the estate which is an R reg series 2 1500 auto in Reynard metalic with slight front end damage (but not for long in august)
Lastly i have just passed on Mortisha which is a black series 2 1300 super 4 door saloon, she has just had a heart transplant and is sporting an MG Metro 1300 engine , TOE 877S
And that is just the allegros lol . . . .
take care
Richie

Following on from Richie, I've taken on Mortisha (TOE877S) the black series 2 1300 saloon featured in the back on Quartic (aug2006) But it's kinda been named Neil as Mortisha sounds a bit too sinister, could this be the worlds first Allegro to have a sex change? lol like Richie said its powered by an MG Metro engine so its pretty good for scaring chavs at the lights in their Saxo's! I'm planning on getting a nice set of Minilite alloys for Neil/Mortisha and its already got a Rokee wood dashboard kit and a series 3 optional sports steering wheel waiting to be fitted. I let Richie take on Fanjita (ONM413P) after she let me down on the way back from Darling buds last year, I started to loose heart in her and she was looking a little forlorn but Richies got big plans for her, he refuses to let them die!
