The top selling UK motor magazine this week includes an article about bargain buys by 'Dr. Banger'. One comment caught my eye.

"A succession of Ford Cortinas, a Renault 18 estate, a Datsun Cherry, a Hillman Avenger, an Austin Allegro and a Triumph Toledo are all lodged in my memory bank, and yet I don't remember any of them giving us major trouble".

The prices asked for Allegros (especially VPs) seems to have risen a lot recently, or is it just my imagination?

Merv.
