As most of you know 2013 marks 100 Years since the start of Morris Vehicle production and making cars at Cowley.

The International Morris Centenary Rally took part this weekend as part of the MMOC National Rally. Many of the other Morris Clubs were also heavily involved and the Maxi Club (which I am also a member of) took part as despite their Austin badges and Longbridge build plates they were put together at Cowley.

As a big fan of Minors and the Morris marque in general I wanted to go along and The Maxi Club kindly said I could join them.

The booking form allowed you to express and interest in concours and those that know me will know I love polishing and detailing my car to the n'th degree so I ticked the box.

Fellow ACI member Steve Swann also did the same with his Austin Maxi 1750 (the beautiful restored Sandglow car he brought to our National).

The event attracted over 2000 cars (1500 minors) and cars from bullnose Morris vehicles up to the last of line Itals and everything in between.

The concours turned out to be good fun and after lots of cleaning and hours of judging Steve won a 1st Prize for his Maxi and I got a 2nd Place with the Allegro. The judges were lovely and really took an interest in our cars.

I think it shows just how well regarded our cars now are that two 70's BL saloons were allowed to enter the prestigious MMOC concours. The general public also took a very keen interest.

Lots of pics to follow......
