Yes, sorry about the delay, have been away
Thanks for putting the pics up for me Giz.
These are some of the parts that I have renovated for my Silver VP, they have all been de-rusted using a wire brush wheel, some of the parts ie driveshafts, hub swivels plus arms have been sprayed with Rustoleum barbeque black paint directly onto the de-rusted parts. Hopefully, the Rustoleum is durable.
After I sprayed the parts with Rustoleum, I baked them in my oven at 150C at home to help cure the paint (it's able to withstand 750C). |

Rustoleum is great, if you thin it down with white spirits you can get a reallynice finish with a gloss roller! i used it to paint a whole mini once.
You can also get it colour matched. |

Just seen this - very nice job, Laurence. I use POR-15 which I can highly recommend for lasting protection although it is expensive. _________________ Austin - you can DEPEND on it!

Have fitted all the bits on the Silver VP but not without problems & I took it for a quick spin on private roads yesterday to test the car & see how it feels etc.
One problem that I didn't expect & found quite irksome was the brake master cylinder.
I bought a 'new' GMC177 tandem Girling brake master cylinder a couple of years ago only to find the seals were duff so I refitted the original master cylinder as a temporary measure until I can source a replacement. |
