No, not the car, the free newspaper. There's a full page feature on p.43 in the wake of last week's poll in which the Allegro was declared Britain's worst car (again). It doesn't seem to be on their website (maybe it will go on later?) but I accidentally on purpose picked up 7 copies on my way through London this morning so if anyone wants to see, let me know! They quote Richard Gunn and our own Mr Irvine and test drive what surely must be Richard Gooch's infamous applejack saloon (and are actually fairly nice about it).

Rolling Eyes Who is this idiot - Mr. Irvine?
If it's positive about the Allegro, I said it!
If it's negative, I have been misquoted.
I would love to see a copy, perhaps next weekend at Amberley?
Best wishes,
Merv.

Ok, I'll bring the spare copies to Amberley. In the meantime my favourite Mervyn quote is:

"People who are rude about the Allegro have never driven one but have copied other idiots whose knowledge is very limited."

You tell 'em, Merv.

Richard Gunn, on the other hand, says, "Oh, it was quite an awful car, all told", and Richard Porter, author of Crap Cars, adds, "it's a bit crap", and describes it as "goppingly ugly".

Don't start me off on ugly cars!

Just a few examples...............entire BMW range, entire Peugeot range (the 406 Coupe was their last decent-looking car), Fraud Focus............that'll do for starters!

On the plus side, Fiat styling is definitely back in again (I thought they lost their way a bit after the Strada, but the last 3 years or so have really seen a change for the better). And nobody will ever make cars that look better than Jaguar!!!

Can you bring a copy of Metro to BL Day?? thanks Smile
