Due to the interest in Series 1 Allegros I thought I'd upload these from Quartics 21 to 29. I said I would do this at spares day. Quality isn't brilliant but I hope this is of interest to people that haven't seen the early Quartics.

Thanks for posting this Andrew - I've just read the Estate section and am surprised at the claim that the estate had less drag than the saloon due to the roof 'lip' which houses the tailgate hinges! _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |

Aha, so they only ever fitted house badges on the nearside wing anyway?! How bizarre... That helps explain a lot. _________________ ...that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today. |

just thought i would mention it as i was reading the article again and i thought i would double check my photos |

| This is utterly fascinating, best read ive had in ages. Is there any way to tell what month my car was made, registered Feb 28 1975 is assume it was build December 74/Jan 75? |

Just had a thought. Giz has a S1 Allegro 1300SDL Estate, it's an ex Leyland press car (he has a thread on here about this under Members Motors) and he went to the reading rooms at the Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon and found out when it was built and dispatched so there might be hope for Harvey too. Possibly being an ex Leyland press car might be why they had the records but it's worth a shot.
Colin Corke is the club Archivist so it might be worth getting in touch with him, he has/had a fully restored S1 also.
Bloke from Norfolk. |
