|

Due to unforseen problems with space at the chatham dockyard show on 23-24th march allegros will not be in attendance. However in true Allegro "not be beaten" style we organising an "allegro grand day out".
On Monday 24th therefore all allegros and their carers are invited to meet at the star inn Matfiled , Kent (usual south thames meeting place) at 11ish. From there at about 11.45 we'll depart for a drive to tenderden and a visit to the kent and sussex steam railway. Optional steam train ride to bodium is a real treat and costs approx £12.00
Parking is free in the station road car park in tenterden. Refreshments/shops available in pictureseque Tenterden.
Good , bad or slightly ugly allegros are treated as equals and are most welcome , as are their owners , again good bad or slightly ugly!!!!

A BIG THANKYOU
To the 8 Allegro's & the 1 Volvo & their owners who braved the weather on this run. A great day was had by all, the pub opened early for us to have tea & coffee, i am so glad they did as while we were pointing our little finger's upwards the sky opened & then came down the snow This continued through out the run, a very picturesque sight of eight Agg's going down winding country roads up hill, down dale through a blanket of white fluffy stuff. Thankfully this did stop when we arived at our destination & we were all able to enjoy the Steam & Diesel trains views of Bodium Castle & Tenterden itself. _________________ It's always better with the roof down ! I think everyone who was involved would say that they had a great day despite the weathers best efforts to make everyones Allegro's dirty!
Of course I didn't brave the weather with my Allegro but thoroughly enjoyed my ride in George and Roger's VP. It was certainly alot quieter and refined that Gladys! No A Series whine and all that extra VP sound proofing! _________________ Tom

Hi Everyone,
Just thought i would comment about our little trip to tenterden . . .
James and i had a great day and it has to be said nice to spend time with good company that day!!
We did have some giggles that day ,weather wasnt too bad really, was quite nice to drive with the snow coming down and i was impressed that lizzy manged to semi behave herself most of the day without embarracing herself and me,apologies to Jenny and Craig for poisoning them from my smoky knackered engine lol
Oh Andy i was very taken with your latest aquisition,little Brian is a beauty!! . . .that sounded a little strange . . . . . . lol
Hope everyone else enjoyed themselves too
take care

| I meant to post this days ago, but thanks to the organisers for a lovely day out, as ever. It was good to get the cobwebs & birds' nests out of Widget (thanks Peter!) and nice to see everyone again, and the spinach dumpling thing I had for lunch was fantastic (although I suppose the pub should take the credit for that really). |
