Hi Adi
First of al, be wary of doing too much to the aggro, some members take a dim view of customising!! The alloys were a straight bolt on job, they actually have more clearance in the front arches than standard wheels! You just have to watch for catching on the front wing forward edge - one of mine was catching, it`s a pattern wing and was a different shape/size but a bit of tin bashing sorted it out easily.
The wheels on mine are Foxpro 7jX15, originally fitted to a Honda Accord 2.0. The tyres are 195/50r15. You need an offset of 0-30mm and PCD of 114 mm. Cars to look at as donors are older Rover 800, Honda Accord / Prelude and Mazda. Google "alloy wheel fitment chart " and you should be able to find a list of cars with the correct size wheels.
Hope this helps

well first thank you very much!
i am aware that some people dont like customising and for them thats great but i pay my road tax, insurance, mot, and purchase costs so as far as im aware beauty is in the eyes of the beholder im not saying that everyone has to do it so dont expect them to comment less favourably on my decisions, now i have set my stand im not an ogre! but im no push over either!
please dont think im being funny cause that would be futher from the truth i came across similar on the maestro site i admire all we all have differences of opinion and interestes!
OK ?Rant over cheers buddy your info has been greatfully appriciated and keep up the good work! |

Lots of Japanese tin use 114x4PCD wheels, so there's usually an embarrassment of choices on FleaBay. _________________ ...that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today. |

Such a shame that car seems to have vanished, I'd love to know more about who did it, how and why.
Frankie (neé Fanjita) is undergoing a slow metamorphosis with a 2.0TD L-series engine, and possibly I'll look at cosmetic upgrades later. I doubt it'll be quite as fast as Jonny Smith's "Project Retirement Rocket" 2.7 V6 Allegro but it'll be much more economical (Despite the lack of progress on the blog since 2009, I know this car has been completed as he's had it insured since earlier this year… Might have to poke him for a new update!)
Of course, no discussion of customised Allegros would be complete without All-Ego!

most be andys fault then as i have brought mine from andy too!!!!!!
i do like the whole custom but im not really wanting to change the look of my car as in shape think whom ever did it well they most of loved the car and think they have done a great job just not my kind of thing nice exhaust, sports paint and nicer seats yeah thats me !
which leads me to my next question does any other rover seat fit in the ally without having to have a quilifacatiob in farbricing! |

The only seats likely to drop straight in would be similarly styled contemporaries, such as those in the Marina, which are no improvement.
Have a look in New Members, at Tony Guest's car. He's fitted Porsche 968 seats and says they're almost a drop-in fitment! _________________ ...that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today. |

Somebody once put Rover 100 seats in an Allegro, but I don't know if they had to modify the runners. _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |

Many years ago, somebody brought a modified Allegro to a few shows, and it had MG Montego seats fitted ("Anglegrinder" aka Stuart, are you still on this forum??)
The Rover 400 (1989-95) seats may be a possibility: the half-leather GSi or GTi versions are especially good! |

Mine has 1991 Metro seats in, I had to make subframes for them and then realised they interfered with the seatbelts, I now have 3 point statics fitted. I`m replacing them with either MGF or Vauhall Astra seats later this year. Being in the garage trade I have plenty of opportunity to measure seats up as possible donors, these two options have been the best so far _________________ Well someone had to do it..... |
