I have had CV joints replaced in past when knocking became more than
slight. However recently mentioned to an" old timer" expert in BL cars
that mine was knocking again after only 3k miles! He told me to check
the suspension trim height as if not correct it would need a pump up
which often cures the knock. Mine turned out to have lost about 3cm in
plus in height on front wheels, a rough guide is to check if x3 fat fingers
fit between tyre top level & wheel arch (differs on MK1).
Job done & knock gone!

Stephen,

Does your Allegro have an 'A' series (998, 1098, or 1275cc) or an 'E' series (1485 or 1748 cc) engine, and is it manual or automatic?

Many thanks,

Merv.
