Could somebody tell me how to remove the rear side glass on a two door shell please. I have removed the aluminium strips.

First, run a screwdriver blade or similar all the way round between the rubber and the body on the EXTERIOR of the car, just to make sure it is not sticky. No leverage required, just breaking the seal, so to speak.

Then, inside the car, push hard on the glass while peeling the lip of the rubber away from the body and poking it out over the flange formed by the bodywork: the aim is to remove the glass and rubber as one item.

It might be helpful for somebody to stand outside to catch the glass and rubber if it pops out suddenly.

What Paul has said worked for me, although I didn't beak the seal beforehand. I found my Equipe glass came out easily, except for the windscreen which I broke . If you need to remove the windscreen, it might be best to cut the seal and get a replacement seal.

Cheers Paul and Colin, I popped the rear quarterlights out this afternoon. Must say I was feeling pretty tense as I was doing it.

It's the best way in my opinion (not that I've had to do it) as tinted laminated glass is hard to find. I got one windscreen a couple of weeks ago that was only 2 hours drive away, but it does have an annoying mark that should polish out. It's going into my Blue estate though, so I'm still short of one for the Equipe.

Glad to hear the other glass came out ok, you shouldn't need to cut the rear seal as it will come out like the side windows. It's just the windscreen that's so delicate as it's laminated. Having said that, cutting the seal will be safer for the glass.
