I have received the following e-mail request (reproduced word for word) and wonder if anyone has any ideas?

I am contacting you to ask if you know of any sites on the internet where I can find video clips of any Allegros. There are quite a lot of photos on the web but very few video clips showing any cars actually being driven. In my opinion part of the charm of any classic is it's engine sound and it would be great to bring the pictures to life on a video for those of us like me who have not heard an Allegro running for well over 25 years as they are rarely seen on the roads outside of the rally circuit. I have included a link to a video that has been uploaded to Youtube showing an MGB sports car so as to give you some idea what I am looking for.

Can anyone help?

Merv.

In the spring when the weather improves, as I don't drive much during the snow and ice, I am willing to have Charlie filmed if the guy in question wants to actually film an allegro in action. I haven't got any film of Charlie so can't post any on Youtube.

If he wants to actually film one then I am perfectly willing for Charlie to be the star, if it's in Lincolnshire.

There's a few clips on YouTube, we've had links posted on here before of stuff like that car chase in a multistory carpark...

Of course, for an A series car, they could just superimpose the engine noise of a Mini Wink

Hi All,

The Gentleman who made the original request (25th November 2010) for help has contacted me again and wonders if anyone can point him in the right direction?

He also wants to know if any member(s) recognises one or more of the following registration numbers, as he can supply some history of each vehicle, if the current owner want it.

1371 BP
VUW 709M
PAL 894R
OJB 981R
PWJ 81R
VFG 102Y

Many Thanks,

Merv.
