Hi,

When advertising a car some people decide to hide their number plates in the photographs.
Why do people do this? I don't get it.

Does anyone know?

Because it helps prevent the number from being cloned by nefarious types.

For the same reason, you will see that some damaged cars on car transporters going for their 'Certificates of Distruction' also have their plates covered.
