Hi Nick,

You might be able to replace the wiper motor brushes, clean out the old motor gearbox grease & put in some fresh grease to make it good as new.

You can buy new motor brush kit from www.moss-europe.co.uk as the wiper motor is the same as an MGB unit (GXE 7708 £60ish). Brush kit part number RTC198A £15ish.

The grease recommended for use in the gearbox is Ragosine Listate, some say Castrol LM grease can be used, but I use an LM grease on forklift trucks which I know does solidify after about 6 months use. Shell Retinax 'A' is probably a better alternative grease.

Have a look here www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/wipermotor.htm for a guide to changing the brushes etc.

When you re-install the motor etc., leave the wiper arms OFF, then operate the wipers & switch off, they should then 'park', then refit the arms etc. & test/adjust again

Hi Nick
You can use a Mini wiper motor too, just change thegearing for the Allegro one to get the correct sweep angle
