As promised heres my pictures taken on the jaunt down to Longbridge. Was a good day all in all, even if the weather was undecided and the traffic management left a little to be desired (tho we did get a very nice apology for this )

Yup, I feel you've captured the essential character of Daisy there Shame about the weather. With a bit more organisation, some autojumble and some sunshine that could be a really good event next year. |

Yeah, was definatly in need of autojumble, and a burger van - it isn't a car show if your not being ripped off to the tune of a fiver plus for a cold greasy burger and a warm coke - mmmmm |

I was there too! I took the wifes rover 214 and plonked it on top of the hill, it was good fun and a great vibe!
Is that your Allegro Jenny? You may have noticed me have a close look at the bodywork, I jumped when I realised somone was sat in the car watching me! Lots of character in your Agg, it looks great! |

Hehe yes, that was probably me. Spent quite a lot of time hiding in the car as it was so bitterly cold outside it...
Poor Daisy. She does have a lot of character, but unfortunately not a lot of front wing, and most of what there is is obscured by expanding foam. She went along to the AGM the other week, where Andy poked around for a second and found a sizeable rusty bit in the inner wing, close to the front tie bar mounting thingy. Anyone in their right mind would scrap it, but we're silly like that so she's staying put for the moment. Craig did drive her back down from Coventry VERY carefully though, fully expecting the front wheel to come up through the floor. |

you HAVE to put that in the advert when you sell her!
Agro... Answers to the name of Daisy, She does have a lot of character, but unfortunately not a lot of front wing, few months MoT, New steering cowl, £500 ONO
well as much as we knock her, Daisy did stop us all dieing of hypothermia at Longbridge, and we did fit 5 people in semi comfit didn't we....and i don't think too many bits of trim fell off?

That's true, no bits actually fell off, although bits of foam may have come out through the gaping holes in the front seats. Oh and that advert would have to read 'half a new steering cowl'... and at the moment no alternator.
Steve, you found out the hard way that your Rover 45 is a lot bigger than an Allegro? What did you do, scrape the wing mirrors off going through a width restriction? |

No no not yet thank god!
Driven up a couple of curbs … luckily no damage!
I brought Knowles high street to a stand still!
I went to Knowle on my way back from work to recycle a BOOT FULL of bottles, got to the tiny car park then found it was jam packed full of 4x4 and MPVs as it was kick out time at the schools. But I had gone the wrong way round the one way system with out realising, ( TBF no signs nothing, only an arrow that some Wally in a Disco had parked over) and I got to this tight bend and was face to face with a line of angry mothers, and I went to reverse… and couldn’t! everything out the back window looks so close, so I tried to move over and couldn’t and was faffing about for at LEAST 2 minutes! Which is a long time when your sat right opposite an anger lady in a Kia Picanto! Then I just drove at the first space I could to get in and ballsed that up two, its so much bigger. Visions realy good on allegros hadn’t realised just how much I appreciate that!
Im much better now! Honest! Its just …teething problems! _________________

Very good Jenny, you keep Daisy on the road for as long as possible! _________________ 1979 Allegro 1500 S2 special 4 door saloon
