I was pleasantly surprised the other day when I was able to 'track-down' some parts for my VP1500 engine.
The crankshaft pulley oil seal is leaking so I thought I'd renew it along with the crankshaft damper pulley which I assume is October 1980 as is the rest of the car.
After several phone calls to various classic car parts suppliers, Ian Wonnicut at Classic Spares 01626 891645 came up with Ernie Jackson's number 01526 398377.
Ernie Jackson is a Maxi Club member & is happy to supply any part to anybody in order to keep their car on the road.
He supplied the pulley CAM 2728 £8.50, oil seal 88G 562 £9.50, lock washer 12A 398 £0.95, & a set of HT leads GHT 103 £7.00, plus carriage £9.50 total £35.45 |

Well done Laurence, a pulley for £8.50???? what a bargain!
Is that NOS or second hand? |

Yes the pulley is NOS, still in its BL box etc.
Ernie did ask if I would like to sit down whilst he told me the total price |

I bought my front wings from him many years ago. If I need E-series bits I might try him. Seems I need a water pump pulley as it has rusted so badly! _________________ Hell has frozen over...... the car formally known as 'Heap' is back on the road! |
