Thanks Chris. |

Hi just to add to my other short post ( I'd typed a long introduction twice then couldn't submit it) I've had a few allegros over the last twenty years or so, two 1500 HL's and a twin carb VP, how I wish I had kept an Hl, loved the twin lights and performance. I haven't had an allegro for the last ten years but do have a fleet of other BL tin.
I have now just recently saved a VP 1500 that came up local after the previous owner had just bought it for its reg number then left it in the garden, a bit work on the brakes etc and I had an mot. Still a work in progress but nice to drive one again, wish it was a tc though.
Looking forward to meeting other members have always found you a friendly bunch down at the Peterbro BL day.
Thanks Chris. |

Welcome Chris, I bought my car late last year from a chap in Darlington. What other BL cars do you have? _________________ Phil

| Hi Phil, Riley Kestrel 1300, Dolomite Sprint, rover 2600 sd1, Marina 1.8 estate, Marina Van, Marina coupe and the VP Allegro. I got mine from Houghton but think it may have come from Bishop Auckland before that. |

Thankyou, I really need to sell some this year but can't choose what.
Recovered the vp's headling and bits today, just got the screen to put back in tomorrow. |

| Wow I can't believe its been 4 years since I posted on here but things in life happen. Anyway I'm back having just renewed my membership and still in Durham. I sold the vp I had 4 years ago but then did buy another vp 3 years ago as it is excacltly the same colour and spec I had when I was 19. I didn't have time to do anything with it when I first bought it so it has just sat in the garage but since Christmas I've started on it and hope to have it ready in time for the BL show at Peterborough this august. |

Hi Chris, good to hear from you! As you may gather, this forum is, well, dead really. Everyone now does "Facebook" but one or 2 still lurk here. I have to say, I prefer it but I can see the advantages of FB (as well as it's disadvantages!) and, well, each to their own I guess.
I look forward to hearing more about your new VP. What colour and spec is it? |

Hi Graham, its Denim blue, 1500 twin carb manual on an X plate so quite a late one. Really cracking on with it at the moment just can't really get any good pictures in the garage. It's very solid and only needing localised welding repairs. Just ordered a new carpet set for it then there is only the fuel tank and a rear bumper that is causing me some problems but I'll get there.
Shame about the forum, I still think they are the best way for members to keep in touch quickly, the Marina club forum is very active. |

Sean! Sean!! Here's another for you
Hi Chris, Sean is in Newcastle and looking for Allegro friends in his area. I'll give him a heads up and let him know you're not far away!
Hope restoration is still going well if not completed! |
