Does anyone know if the FAM7750 series 3 1.3 choke cable was used on any other Austin Rover car, such as the Metro, Mini or a Land Rover?
Many thanks,

Hi Katie.
Looking at the Parts Fiche, FAM7750 is correct for a Series 3 'A' Series Allegro.
I have Fiche for the Metro, but only up to 1982, and the number is not the same. (FAM8700) [Both should have a fitting for the choke warning light switch, but the Metro cable length is probably shorter.]
Doing a Google search on the part number should highlight Mini and L/R parts people who keep this part, but it did not produce the result I had hoped for!
What is wrong with the original? If the inner cable has broked at the carburetter end could you shorten the outer cable to make it fit? Alternatively it might be possible to fit a new inner cable.

Have a look at cable DMA9749, it's 41" long as used on Landrover.
It does have position for switch to attach so it could be adapted & shortened to fit your Allegro? |

Hi Mervyn,
I have found an old choke cable and will try to use the good inner from that - part of it was previously used with a Land Rover one (or so my brother tells me) for the blue estate.
Many thanks!
