I fitted a NOS Lockheed tandem master cylinder to the Equipe today but unfortunately the system on the Equipe is a Girling system so in the end I put a Lockheed servo on as well.

Just out of curiosity could I have fitted the Lockheed master cylinder to the Girling servo? I know one of the unions on the Girling master cylinder is bigger than the Lockheed master cylinder so I had to change a brake pipe.

Also, should there be a gasket between the servo and the bodywork? I can't see one on the parts CD. If there should be a gasket and I haven't fitted one could there be possible water leaks into the cabin?

I don't think they can be mixed, and I don't think there should be a gasket - water doesn't run down the servo/master as rain is channeled away down the sides of the engine bay.

Colin's right, the master cylinder flange holes are different, the Girling studs are bigger & wider apart so you have to swap for matching servo/master cylinder.

There is an 'O' ring between the master cylinder & servo unit that should form an airtight seal, but there is no gasket between the servo unit & bulkhead.

Thank you Colin and Laurence for your advice. The O ring was missing between the servo and the master cylinder so I appreciate you telling me that Laurence.
