Well what a day today has been, i have been looking forward to this day for some time.now as it would be the day andys on the road i rang up a insurance company last month and was quoted 1400 which was reasonable considering my age (1 Cool

today i rang up to retrieve the quote as I'm not going to get a cheaper one and after 5 hours of waiting whlie they checked mt details the price is now 7000 year seven thousand pounds a year! If there is any other young allegro drivers with cheap insurance or could anyone recommend any insurance company's i would be most grateful.

Who is that quote from? Despite the car's age, you may be better served going for a "normal" policy rather than a classic one as your age tends to preclude a lot of companies from covering you.

That quote was from aviva but i have tried several other companys today classic policy and just normal policies i have a couple more to try tomorrow so fingers crossed Andy Will be on the road before Christmas xD

I'm with Peter James, but I think your age & inexperience would preclude them from covering you. Adrian Flux could be worth a go, as could Lancaster. Do try the specialists before the big names, flip through the back of any classic car mag for a host of options - the time you spend could save you a packet!

I take it you've tried all the comparison sites?

I feel your pain, living in NI (which has the highest rates of insurance in the UK) and as a young driver until fairly recently, it can be a right pain getting affordable insurance.

Endsleigh tend to be quite cheap, but their customer service is woeful, and God help you if you need to make a claim

My main car is insured with these guys, and they are generally rather good.

My Allegro is with Flux, and I pay £100 a year (that's a second policy with 0 NCB). It does help that I've just turned 30 though.
