I follow all sorts on Facebook & there's a 1967 Hunter that's popped up which has taken my fancy. It has a slightly buggered 1725cc SC engine installed, and comes with a spare 1725cc TC engine that's in much better shape.

Anyone got any stories about these, especially horror or cautionary tales.

Would the TC be a Holbay-tuned motor perchance?

I quite like the late 60s/70s Hillmans myself but only because they are, tbh, pretty naff.

Chrysler took over Rootes and quality suffered, but the 1725 engines are supposedly pretty tough and will run for over 150k without major attention.

The TC should indeed be a Holbay unit, which also makes it a few years younger than the shell but still old enough to avoid silly things like emissions.

What I know of it suggests this car is predominantly rustless (well, as much as you can expect for a 45 year old car), but of course such things are best assessed yourself so I'll be trying to get a look before much longer.
