Watched this program on TV last night, it was one of those documentarys about criminals, presented by Martin Kemp, it described the horrific crimes carried out by the burglar refered to as the 'Fox' back in the eighties.

He was sentnced to six life sentences in 1985.

Anyway, near the end of the program the car which the Fox (Malcolm Fairley) owned & drove around Bedfordshire committing these heinous crimes, was revealed.

It was a Harvest Gold Allegro saloon Reg. No. KPT 289 N.

Does any club member own this car, or do you of the whereabouts of it?

Had a look on DVLA Database, date of liability is April 1985, so I guess it's no longer with us.

As that's around the time of his trial, it was probably taken as evidence & later destroyed.

I have often wondered if there is a secret store somewhere containing vehicles used in serious crimes that cannot be destroyed just in case they contain vital evidence that might be needed if an appeal was lodged in the future.

Peter Sutcliffe's Rover P6 and Steve Wright's Ford Mondeo are two such examples.

Incidentally, I seem to remember that when the 'Fox' documentary was filmed, Colin Corke's Harvest Gold 1300 was used by the production team.

Good point; destruction may not be an option.
